Through the ISTAT summary form G.254, all consensual or judicial measures relating to legal separations of spouses, dissolutions and terminations of the civil effects of marriage (divorces), and dissolutions of civil unions are counted. These measures are finalized by the civil registries of the Courts and Courts of Appeal of the Italian Republic, have become final and binding, and are transmitted to the Civil Status Offices. The form provides a breakdown of the municipalities to which the measures (classified by type) have been transmitted. The form is transmitted by the Courts and the Courts of Appeal. [back]
