Description

The 2011 Establishment Census - Business survey provides information on enterprises at the 31st of December 2011. The mixed survey technique is based on both a sample survey on small and medium-sized enterprises (with less than 20 persons employed) and a census survey on large-sized enterprises (with 20 persons employed and over).
The enterprises sample included in the pre-census list has been selected from the Italian Business Register, namely the Statistical Archive of Active Enterprises (ASIA). The Establishment survey concentrates on factors of competitiveness of enterprises and provides census data. Overall, it is the first multipurpose survey promoted by the National Institute of Statistics in terms of investigated topics, crosswise with respect to other surveys carried out until now, and coverage of surveyed units.
